Further information
This tour begins at Ostkreuz and takes you through Friedrichshain to selected locations that exemplify the urban developments of recent years. The focus is on plots and areas that have lost their original use as a result of investment and restructuring. During the walk, we pass several former and existing clubs and examine their development, the effects of economic pressure, and the ongoing process of commercialisation in the district. The route then follows the River Spree to the Oberbaum Bridge. On this section, the historical significance of the Osthafen is explained and an overview of its current use is provided. The tour ends after around two hours at the RAW site, a culturally vibrant area featuring diverse street art, graffiti and a high concentration of clubs and creative venues. The tour is aimed at those interested in exploring urban development, cultural change and Berlin’s club scene.
